Job Description
We are pleased to support a Management Company investing in mainly liquid funds in the search for a Senior Financial Reporting Associate.
Our client invests in mainly liquid funds (UCITS), plus a few semi-liquid strategies and AIFs.
They are looking for a proactive team player to provide effective oversight of their financial reporting and audit obligations for their funds. You will also lead financial and governance oversight activities for the Management Company.
The role is broad, challenging and interesting. It will give you an insight into the workings of the Management Company, and ownership of the financial oversight of the funds. You will review and challenge the work provided by third party administrators and auditors.
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate the annual reporting cycle for the funds, review financial statements and annual reports
• Consider relevant regulatory implications impacting the funds
• Give technical assistance on Lux GAAP and IFRS matters
• Develop a relationship with service providers and auditors, ensuring adherence to agreed KPIs
• Provide governance oversight for the Management Company
• Review the financial performance of the Management Company, creating reports and assess the existing governance framework
• Assist with budgets and expenses of the ManCo
• Seek to improve processes or procedures where you note a weakness or risk
• Act as a member of the internal control function for the funds and the Management Company
• Assist on projects relating to regulatory or business change
Candidate Requirements
• Big 4 audit experience is strongly preferred
• Experience reviewing various Investment Management audit engagements is beneficial
• Sound practical experience of working with UCITS funds is essential
• 4-8 years of relevant experience
• Solid understanding of Luxembourg liquid fund ranges
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
• Good knowledge of Lux GAAP and IFRS
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting and financial reporting is expected
