Our client is an alternative investments fund manager (AIFM).
They offer a unique opportunity for experienced risk professionals (with a Big-4 or AIFM experience) to join them in a rich and varied role that will allow fantastic broad exposure to the business.
The role is at a Senior Associate level, so suited to someone with 4-5 years of financial services career experience with some focus on risk management. Our client is targeting someone who is at equivalent level of Senior II or Senior III at the Big 4. You must also have demonstrable employer stability on your CV.
Due to the success of the business, and the desire to ensure well-rounded fund professionals who stay in the business long-term, this permanent role (CDI) will involve an initial sustained period working as a valued member of the local risk management team, focused on specific 'private market' strategies. After an initial 9-12 months, subject to business needs, you could then transfer into another team such as valuation, risk or finance (or continue in the same team); the point being this is an unusual and exciting opportunity to develop expertise in a related area within a great company, avoiding being “pigeon-holed” too early and experience the breadth of knowledge within an AIFM that is usually hard to attain.
Risk management team responsibilities:
• Draft and update risk profiles
• Monitor, identify and assess fund related risk
• Implement strategies to mitigate risk
• Review deals prior to transaction and provide a risk profile
• Provide updated risk information for regulatory reporting requirements
