Financial Controller - AIFM

Job Description

They are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Financial Controller to join the team. You will be a member of the group accounting team, working closely with local colleagues in Luxembourg plus senior members of the Group Finance Team in London. The role is varied: including group entity accounting; commercial finance for the business; and involvement in key fund aspects for the AIFM.

Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with a strong background in financial control and process improvements. The business would benefit if you have data management skills and good technology skills more broadly.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial controls, optimising processes, and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis
Financial control oversight (including subscription tax review, management fees review etc…)
Reviewing book entries of a junior accountant based in London (you must understand double entry bookkeeping)
Executing month end processes for Luxembourg and its 5x European branches
Quarterly & annual regulatory reporting
Develop and maintain robust financial reporting dashboardses
Responsible for management fee billing, payments management for the AIFM and monthly management accounts
Review and manage tax elements
Produce board packs and management committee reports
Flag and suggest process improvement opportunities, deliver automation enhancements (data management), then engage with the London team

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Fluent English and fluent French language skills is essential. You cannot be considered unless you speak fluent professional English and French
Worked in a reputable audit or accounting firm with strong practical accounting experience
Experience in the fund services or asset management industry a big advantage
Strong background in financial controls and process optimisation
Effective interpersonal and presentation skills are essential for this role
Be proactive, with good attention to detail and prioritisation skills
