VAT Compliance Manager
Job Description

We’re looking for a VAT Compliance Manager to join them, to manage a team of more junior VAT professionals, and to take responsibility for the delivery of all VAT matters for a varied client portfolio. This team supports the direct tax team on all indirect tax compliance and related administration matters related to Luxembourg VAT. It’s not an advisory role, but a position for someone who enjoys the execution of VAT matters.
To thrive in this role, your key responsibilities will include:
• Providing leadership as the expert in VAT compliance matters for your clients
• Involvement in the review of VAT returns, VAT Assessments and other relevant indirect VAT matters and calculations, making sure service level agreements are met by your team
• Ensure client VAT records are correct and filings are done on time
• Act an escalation point for the team on all VAT issues, being a true subject matter expert
• Following up with various stakeholders including client and relevant service providers
• Acting as the point of contact for tax advisers and Luxembourg tax authorities
• Coaching and mentoring members of the team on all matters related to VAT, supporting internal training, and performing appraisals
• Participate in all ad-hoc projects related to VAT
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
• Have an accounting or finance degree.
• ACCA qualified or part qualified would be ideal but not essential
• Qualification such as Chamber of Commerce - Cycle A&B Diplomas
• Ideally have between 8+ years of proven VAT compliance experience
• Possess prior people management experience
• Good knowledge of preparing and reviewing VAT tax returns
• Good organization and communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written
