AML Expert - Due Diligence (AIFM)
Job Description
We are pleased to partner with one of our preferred clients, a leading AIFM in Luxembourg, in support of their search for an AML Expert with a strong focus on due diligence activities.
We know our client well having worked with them for 10 years in Luxembourg. Our client is a Private Equity firm with prestigious investors operating across Europe and investing in mainly real estate and infrastructure projects.
What is the structure?
• The Compliance, AML and Due Diligence function is directed from the Luxembourg office, with a pan-European influence across several jurisdictions. Therefore this is a great opportunity for you to be part of a front office function which steers AML/DD policies in Luxembourg and Europe, ensuring all AML/DD operations are business-fit and that they are in line with the Group’s global requirements.
• You will report to the European Regional Head and work with the wider team, compliance team, and service providers.
What is the role?
• You will step up as a senior member of the team, owning and developing the AML/DD technical expertise and taking ownership of compliance assurance
• Your success will be seen in your ability to translate and apply regulatory requirements, ensuring that AML/DD operations are fit for purpose
• You will also oversee all investor AML/DD services delivered by the Group’s 3rd Party Providers
• You will thrive on building excellent rapport and credibility through meaningful and successful relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across offices and jurisdictions
Candidate Requirements
What will you need to succeed?
• This is a position suited to an experienced AML/DD professional with 5 + years of relevant work experience in in financial services in Luxembourg, and ideally beyond. Additional experience working across jurisdictions is highly desirable.
• You will need strong a) AML experience, b) due diligence oversight experience, plus c) have worked onsite in Luxembourg (for the last 3+ years) to be considered for this role
• Proficient in applying regulatory requirements into operations
• Demonstrable experience managing successful relationships with service providers
